I don't need (high)quality, and I don't need room scale capabilities, I just want a free way to lay down with a controller and gaze at some skyboxes for a while. I don't know much in that regard but it sure as heck didn't work when I've tried it.
I just want to see all my favorite game worlds in wonderful 3D, and yet for some reason Vireio, which has support for Oculus as far as I'm aware, can't be bothered to make the same thing for Vive.? Or. The funny thing is, I'm not even looking for room scale. I also found Vireio which sounds pretty darn great, in the same way Vorpx does, but it doesn't even work with the HTC Vive! Or rather, it does but only for Fallout 4, which I don't have. While searching for alternatives, I've found Tridef, which apparently doesn't support VR at all anymore, since before the DK2 was even a thing.
But I will surely not pay 40$USD for a program that is so mixed in reviews, and has ZERO in the way of free trials. Vorpx sounds exactly what I'm looking for, and I probably wouldn't mind all the tinkering with settings to make games work properly. I've been doing research on and off for months, stretching back long before the Vive even launched trying to find information on how to play games like Skyrim, Dishonored, and other DirX games in VR.
